Anywho, I finished the orange sweater, and as I suspected, it's too small. I knew it, but I honestly don't care. It was a great exercise in learning to knit. I didn't take picture's because I didn't weave in the ends. It was my fault. And someday the Bean will be big enough to wear it.
I have been knitting and crocheting. I'm working on a Pokemon blanket for Miss M's birthday. She's gone gonzo for it so she will be the (hopefully) proud owner of a Pikachu blanket that I've been crocheting. I made the graph using MicroRevolt's web app.
I started knitting socks for me using the Crystal Palace Panda Cotton in Picnic. It sucked. Actually the colors were pooling into vertical rows with the vibrant fuschia and lime green in 1 vertical stripe and the pale pink, tan and blue in another vertical stripe. I frogged it and started making a pair of socks for Bean. It looks great! I'm about to turn the heel. I was using the Yarn Harlot's sock recipe from DIY which I resized to Beana's feet, but was a little confused at the heel turn, so I had to go to Pixie's directions (from Webs) for help.
I have also been knitting and crocheting baby caps. I've knit one hat on straights. and I'm working on 1 on double pointed needles. I can't get the 16" circs to make the teeny hats. I used to be quite indimidated by the DPNs, but since I started the sock, I'm quite fine with it.
My college buddy (and former neighbor) Kim who still works at Workman Publishing, sent me a stack of new books. Both SNB and SNB Nation by Debbie Stoller and Itty-Bitty Nursery and Itty-Bitty Hats by Susan B. Anderson. Wow, now that's a lot of great reading. The DPN hat I'm making now is from the Hats book . Very pretty books, very cute hats. I also cast on for the Clover Eylet Wrap sweater in SNB Nation. While I love it, I think it might just have to wait, because I really want to get started on that Cherry Tree Hill Sock yarn I bought in July. It's going to be a vest. Muchas Gracias Kim. I'm in heaven.
And here's a pile of photos. I sent these things to Operation Toasty Toes to help them raise money for shipping the comfort items. My girls went gaga for the back pack and I had to make them each their own. They both want hats and purses and all kinds of stuff.

Welcome Back

Well I have 5 adult children who I couldn't get to potty train until they were AT LEAST 3yrs old. I tried everything. they couldn't care less. I just kept thinking that they would be potty trained before they graduated high school. LOL!! And they were!
Beautiful stuff! Thanks for sharing.
Welcome back! You've had a productive August - great projects!
The sad thing is that most of these things were done early in the summer. They just needed the finishing touches - buttons, flowers, etc. I've got some other stuff, but I can't post them yet. Birthdays coming up.
Hi love all your hats but I really like the green one. Could you possibly tell me where you got the pattern? I crochet hats for the homeless and am always looking for new patterns. Thanks for sharing your lovely crochet things with us.
Brenda
The green hat is my own pattern. I haven't written it up or published it yet. I'll get working on that this week. It started out as a baby hat. It's easy.
